always up for a challenge

With a bachelor’s degree in Electronics & telecom, I was able to land my first job as a Computer Maintenance Engineer. Honestly, the work was so easy, any 10th-grade guy could have done this job with no issues. The only challenge was being clueless about what a Supercomputer actually was when I started working on one.

I was curious about what a supercomputer is, so I asked my tablemate. He told me that they are powerful computers used for large-scale problems. I asked him if I could get a chance to work with one… and he said sure – why not? He also asked me what types of operating systems I know.

Let me be frank: I wasn’t familiar with that operating system – I told him that I only know about Windows.

When he asked me if I wanted to learn something that would “change my life,” I was hesitant at first, but it was a challenge I decide to accept.

I found more about the operating system, which was Linux. Instead of using the menu drive screens, I got familiar with the black screen, typing commands on the terminal, and running them with scripting.

And so it began. Within a few months, I had completed my first certification in “Redhat.”

As a career, I wasn’t particularly successful in my first job. I got that opportunity really soon when I started with CoreView. Working with some of the brightest minds in the industry and having access to a bunch of the latest technologies, I got opportunities to grow my knowledge and vision. I’m passionate about my work and the work culture supported my passion. For me, getting the opportunities to learn and be able to demonstrate my abilities is most encouraging.
Do you really enjoy what you do?
