I was about to get a tattoo on my wrist, and my best friend asked “What if you get the call again?”… My heart skipped a bit… my mind went back to the past.
Ever since as I remember myself as a kid, I always had only a dream … to fly in the air.
It didn’t matter if someone told me that humans can’t fly, or if someone pointed out that we don’t have wings. Not even when my parents opposed the idea saying that the airline industry may not be a good industry to work for.
In my heart I wanted to pursue my dream… and after dramatic twists and turns … from formal education to engineering to modeling… my career was swinging from one point to another.
Finally, I decided to make a jump and pursue my dream… and it didn’t take long to finish my course… a few job interviews and I was ready to take off…I had my final interview and was about to start industry training to join the industry…
And Then, you know … Covid hit. The whole industry was doomed. Everything got halted. All planes landed … taking my dream with them… This was the darkest time of my life when I joined @CoreView for talent acquisition. The team is great and I started enjoying a new life with them. Last week, when I was about to get a tattoo, my best friend reminded me that having a tattoo on your visible body parts will disqualify me from an airline opportunity. Was I ready to sacrifice it? Despite the fact that there was no hope to get a call again in today’s uncertain times… My answer was clear: NO.
I decided to hold myself back.. and it wasn’t even a few hours later… my phone rang. The person informed me that the airline is flying again and they would like me to get on the board…
Nothing short of a miracle!!!
I was thrilled – and worried. How would I tell my leadership at CoreView about this? They had supported me in my darkest times, and now when it was time to show some returns, I would be gone.
I contemplated for a long time, and finally got the courage to talk to Makarand, worried about his reaction.
“Wow! That’s wonderful!! Why are you confused about it?
Anytime when you get choices in life.. choose the one that helps you to get your dreams fulfilled. We are glad that you are going to live your dream life… Of course, we will miss you, but we will meet when we fly by your airline.”
